Happy Samhain

I’ve got my devil horns and cape on, the Trick or Treaters are about to start knocking on the door and…oops, I realized I didn’t get my weekly blog post up. Yesterday’s Mindful Nature Day Retreat was a lovely, nourishing, inspiring day, and I’ve been completely unplugged ever since (which can be a good thing at times, as we’ve talked about!). So here’s a little seasonal inspiration.

Happy Halloween, Day of the Dead, Samhain, All Souls Day from Dewey (the sleeping dog we’re letting lie) and me!

For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.

~William Penn

Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life.

~John Muir

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?

~Kahlil Gibran

Asato ma sat gamaya
Tomaso ma jyotir gamaya
Mritor mamritam gamaya

From the unknown lead me to the known
From darkness to light
From death to immortality

~The Upanishads
